As Sandy-caused waves battered Lake Shore Drive we got a predictable Springsteen song stuck in our head…

NEW PLAYLIST: AT HOME WITH SANDY
Hurricane Sandy has crippled New York City. The subways aren’t running, power is out and entire neighborhoods have flooded. The FADER, like most local businesses, is closed today, as it was yesterday, during the brunt of the storm. Fortunately, we’re all safe and sound (and wish the same for you and your loved ones). We basically turned into Weather Channel zombies, but when cable went out we were forced to turn to music. Here’s a collective playlist from the FADER staff of what we’ve been using to soundtrack high winds and intermittent rain while working from the couch.
Kendrick Lamar, “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe”
Janet Jackson, “Any Time, Any Place”
Funkadelic, “Can You Get To That”
Peace, “Tattoo”
The Raincoats, “Shouting Out Loud”
Warpaint, “Undertow”
Nik Turner, “Careful With That Axe, Eugene”
Lydia Lunch, “Gloomy Sunday”
Minks, “Cemetary Rain”
Woods, “Rain On”
Four Tet, “Lion”
Lemonade, “Neptune”
Miguel, “Where’s the Fun in Forever”
Blake Mills, “Hey Lover”
Brandy, “Do You Know What You Have”
Molly Nilsson, “The Home Song”
